Just a month ago, I was asked not to report to work when I touched down in Singapore (from Bangkok).

I remember reading my sms when I reached home. My boss said I should stay at home until they verified if Bangkok was “safe”. *secretly very happy*

But was only quarantined in the morning. When I was asked to return at 11am, my colleagues asked me to hug them or sneeze on them. Suddenly I became a “highly desirable object to be touched“. Nat wanted me to sneeze in the lift so everyone can catch my bugs (if there was any).

Today, she was quarantined for 7 days because her mom just returned from Perth. I met her in the morning and we weren’t told about this until afternoon. I received an email that I was appointed as her “flu buddy” – to monitor her movements, contacts and temperature daily.

I sent her an email: I should have hugged you just now…:)

Suddenly the H1N1 self-quarantined peole have become the teddy bears.

I also just returned from Penang on Sunday. But Penang is not counted…Aiks.. But Mike was quarantined too because of his recent trip to Bangkok. Looks like I went to Bangkok at the right time then, before it turns into a SCT (sustained community transmission) country.
