I’ve found as I grow older, there’s a deepening wanting to share time with parents and the older generation. I spent a substantial amount of time in my formative years as a young adult away from home (NS + Bachelor + PhD = 9 years). And the time I was at home, I was mostly a hermit spending a lot of time in my study room. In the late 90s after my two brothers got married though and I was the sole son still staying with parents, I resolved to spend more time ‘downstairs’ in the living and dining rooms rather than on my own. That meant setting up a wireless network so I could do work in those areas. Even if there wasn’t anything to talk about with parents, I like to think they would had been encouraged my physical presence at least.

Whoops – Exam Meeting about to start; have to stop here haha.:)

I suppose it’s time to exercise some time management strategies, Miss Thian. If you have trouble coping even with that in place, it’s probably better to take a couple of days’ leave just to spend quality time with your loved ones. Remember, they’re part of the driving force that keeps you going!

We’re all running an endless rat race, it’ll probably never stop until we finally settle down in retirement.

You’re probably more of “I want to care, but I just couldn’t find the time, I honestly want to’.
