My journey in photography
I have just come back from my 1-week holiday in Penang. And guess what who I have brought home…
Introducing, my 2nd darling (the first one is here) after drooling for 3 LONG YEARS….
Introducing….Canon EOS 40D with a Tele-lens.

This is my second SLR camera. In fact, the first one I had was an analog Ricoh SLR.
That’s me. At my uni photography studio. See my watch? I am still wearing it…

My mom bought this camera in Perth because I had core subjects in photography. We were not allowed to use digital camera for our assignment back then. And we had to develop slides and sometimes developing photos in the dark room (ah..I missed those chemical smells).
My slides. It is very expensive to develop these as compared to pictures.

And my favourite picture happens to be this..

Slowly, I was exposed to landscapes and portraits in photography..
My research thesis.. King Street, Perth

I love this street so much that I have taken more than 100 pictures of every crook and corner!
You probably have known that I am very passionate about travelling. Hopefully, I would have a fruitful photography experience in my next trip (though hanging a 0.74kg on the neck is not a laughing matter). I am into taking humans now. Thanks to the kids whom I worked with dearly..

These faces never failed to melt my heart..

Nice.:) I’ve been deciding a new system to replace my current DSLR (a Konica-Minolta before they got absorbed into Sony), and it’s between a 40D or 5D.
The 40D is especially attractive now since the price drop 2 weeks ago, but the 5D is getting a MkII. Decisions & decisions.:(

And that looks like a EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS you picked up too. Did I get that right?

wah CY, yes it is!!
I am so looking forward to take some shots using the lens in the upcoming family day (at the zoo). U going?

Yeah I recognized that Canon setup you’ve picked up – because that’s one of the configurations I’m considering too (though I’ll also be picking up the 430ex and 50mm 1.8 prime). It’s quite funny, because in GET I’m surrounded by Nikon fans in the department and they’d rather I choose the D300 instead.:)
But yes I’ll most likely be doing the Zoo thing, though that’ll be like the upteemth time I’m going there to shoot animals. It’s like a biannual pilgrimage now for me now.:)
