Matchmaking by 2 cutest parents
I am back from Penang!
I always have my ‘scheduled maintenance’ done back home. I am like an old car that needs to be ‘fixed’ now and then. The ‘routine’ is always inclusive of getting my joints oriented by my chiropractor, seeing my chinese doctor and getting my face checked by my skin consultant.
I knew these people since 5 years ago and they know my areas of concern very well.
That also includes my pediatrician, who used to see me since I was a baby and a good friend of my mom. This doctor has all my medical history!
One afternoon, mom and I was in the car..
Mom: Hey, Dr Chua asked me if you are attached.
Me: Why?
Mom: He said that his son is still single wor and dunno why young people nowadays dunwan gf and bf. He wants me to introduce you to his son.
Me: Ah…Like that ah..Ok lor. Call Dr Chua later and said I dun mind.
Mom: (surprise) You sure-o-not???!! You serious ah??
Me: I dun mind..Make friend only mah..
Later in the afternoon, 4.15pm when Dr Chua treated his last patient..(Wow! My mom knows his ‘timetable’)
Mom: Hello Dr Chua ah, my daughter said she is ok to meet your son wor..
Dr: Ah?? Serious ah??
Mom: Yeah..by the way, how old is your son ah?
Dr: Going to be 30 already. Wait! How old is your daughter ah? What is she doing now? Where is she working?….
After answering his many many questions..
Mom: Ok, now my turn. (Repeated the same many many questions)
Dr: Aiya, one in KL and one in Singapore. How like that?
Of course it didn’t work out but we had a great laugh. And no, his son is NOT a doctor but guess what, he is also teaching 3D animation at one of the top animation school in Asia.
The world is so small indeed.
Update: I have to say that why I agreed to it was because I don’t mind knowing another person in this world, not because I need matchmaking.

sometimes it’s easier and more effective if people help a bit. it really saves time trying to bump into a person that is suitable for yourself. really no harm when people introduce a friend to you who might be a potential…well if not, no harm having another friend…

I am kind of agree with White & Red Rosses view. It is true, knowing friend from different background and from all walk of society can enrich our life but normally you don’t do this thru parent arrangement. You normally do it within your own circle of social life. (friend to friend etc.)
However, I do reckon that mate maching still normal nowday but Cherry, I don;t think you need this!!!!!
