What are HDB flats for? If HDB is “heavily subsidized” by the government, why are there more people not able to afford one now? If it is meant to “protect” the people by giving a cheaper alternative so that more can afford a home to stay, why made this woman and her children homeless just because of the inflexible policies?

Just because “someone” works according to the “book” on the other line- “Oh..because the regulations say so….” this poor lady has no one to turn to. I wonder if she has the ground to even appeal.

I do understand that such policies are in place so that some “bad hats” cannot reap the benefits from these cheap housing. But, is there also regulation to protect a victim like that woman?
