hair

Mom was so excited one morning that she purposely woke me up earlier than usual. “Wake up! I want to perm your hair!” Being a very filial daughter, as always, I woke up with my sleepy eyes, dragged my feet to the chair she had nicely placed in front of the TV.

I am so used to having her “playing” with my hair. She is the one who always cuts and ties my hair since young. When I was in primary school, I had a long and silky smooth hair. She used to put beautiful hair pins and ribbons on my braids and ponytails. And because of that, my teachers were always hoo-haaing over my hair and hair accessories. She had all the tools she needed: Roller, chemical for perming hair, barber cloth etc. The only thing that she needs to open a barber shop is the BARBER’S POLE outside my house.

Obviously, it is not easy to take care of the after-permed. I can’t really comb my hair because it will straighten it. I have to apply some perming cream every morning after shower to maintain its curls. (I took the wrong cream to apply on my hair for a week before she notices it. I . actually .  applied . conditioner . on .  my .  hair . to . work!) This is not what I would do everyday because it is just NOT ME! Will put up some pictures once I get those pictures from her camera. (She has been snapping pictures of my curly hair for ‘promotional purposes’). She is just so proud of her model ‘work’.

After 10 days, my hair started to be straightened again. Mom said it was a shame but hey, I want my life (without maintenance) back! I MISS my straight hair..
