The school holiday is here! But guess what, it is a misconception that lecturers do not work during school break. I am not sure about other institutions but we have more work to do during school break – projects, subject development and planning, assessment planning and etc. I am “drained” now.
My remedy? Dig out as many happy photos as possible and browse them through one-by-one.
The down side is?? They make me more upset..:(

Picture was “manipulated” by PlayStation Eyetoy.
Part of my heart sank when looking through these pictures because it reminded me how much I have missed Perth.
I have not been back for 2 years now but I felt like I have left the place for a decade.
I was planning to travel next month but Australia is NOT of my options. It is just so different if I am only visiting – because I don’t belong there anymore.
Just to share with you some of the memorable moments and favourite places of mine in Perth.
Mill Point at night. Good spot for photography (but you need a steady hand if you don’t have a tripod)

King Street

His Majesty’s Theatre – where I watched my first “Swan Lake” ballet.

It was my research that brought me to this beautiful street and I have taken about 200 pictures. Though it is located in the CBD of Perth, I thought I had gone back to the early 20th century because of its architecture and atmosphere.
My favourite restaurant

The place that I had my first Hoegaarden beer and love it since then.

My first car – Nissan Blue Bird. (I heard it was banned in some Asian countries because of its name. Not sure how true it is) Sounds pretty rude if you said it in Hokkien. I own a blue bird (in hokkien)! Phew..

This car was as “young” as me. He is born in the same year as I am. 2000cc auto wagon with no power steering. The aircon didn’t work anymore but the heater worked perfectly fine. Broke down a few times when travelling to school. Worst when it broke down at the traffic light.
So I changed…to this!

Ya right.. My favourite car show. I was very into “z’ng my car” that time.
The Pride Day – where you can see the most gays and lesbians in bizarre costumes (and some without!)

Our first mamak night – where we served mamak food to local and foreign students in campus. We had roti prata, chicken curry, satay, toast, teh tarik..[more pics here]

My first abalon-ing experience. [more here]

My christmas decor…..as if.
My neighbour’s house. Most of them were competing who had the most lights.

My cute 3D lecturer. *grin* The one on the right of course.

My fellow malaysian friends in Perth. Met them only when I was about to graduate. The 3rd one from the left is my primary classmate. We had not met for 10 years and suddenly POP!….he appeared in front of me in campus.

My first birthday with big bruise on my thigh.

And finally, the day I moved out from my house..

See the garden? I have 6 patches of these gardens around my house. It took me ages to maintain. There were lots of lavenders (right).
My last day in Perth, at the airport

And last but not least, the picture that had shocked the world when I displayed it on my MSN…

Oh com’on!!
