Finally I have the time to sit down and complete my entry about my “tattoo”. It is a long entry and hence, the part 2.
On Sunday afternoon, we went to Roy’s house for his newborn’s party. That was why I was shopping for baby’s stuff.
Cute!! I love to smell baby’s head.

As I was sitting at the living room, a small girl came to me.
“Were you at the family day yesterday?” *Looking at my tattoo*
Me:”Er..ya. Why? You recognised me?”
Wah..not bad. I must be super outstanding with my tattoo that even a small kid can recognise me in the crowd.
She pointed at her tattoo and said:”See, I have one, too!!”
Me:”Oh..Great! I wish I can get the butterfly one like yours!” -_-
There you go. The family day was the beginning of the entire tattoo thing.
I was one of the organizing committee for our staff family day. We had several booths and stalls set up at Fort Canning. Airbrush tattoo was one of them.
After we have done with registration, Mike and I were skipping and running towards the airbrush tattoo booth. I was surprised to see most of the aunties were in the queue!

Wah…Love leh. How come I didn’t get that template?

I wanted to remove it after family day. But then, it was my first time having something ‘printed’ on my skin and I was so excited. I wanted to show my friends and colleagues before removing it.
So the tattz stayed.

I met up with Sean before going to Roy’s house. He said if the aunties (at Roy’s) saw me with the tattz, they would see me as an Ah Lian, which I totally expected it.
It is interesting to see how people perceive you when they see you with a tattoo. I have one day to experience it, which put me in a total different light.
When I was introduced to Roy’s colleagues, Sean mentioned that I had a tattoo.
Their immediate reaction was priceless. The man whispered to his girl friend:”She had a tattoo?? Where?”
Then I had to quickly explain that it was airbrushed. -_-
You see, whether you like it or not, people with tattoo will be judged (mostly negatively) almost instantly.
I told Dan that it would be my future thesis. Dan told me to get a real one for research purpose.
Nah…I won’t get a tattoo. I don’t see the need to.
Some said it was a phase to rebel.
If I want to rebel, I would choose to devour 2 buckets of KFC in a day. (Well, I have yet to go through my rebellious youth. *grin*)
If it is just for fun, I don’t see how “fun” it could be after having it for 10 years.
Mom used to tell us:”Cut on your skin, pain in my heart.” That is the last thing I want to do to upset her.
Furthermore, I have all the “extra” things on my skin already: fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation and scars. The last thing I want is also a tattoo.
I started to get bored with my tattoo already. Can’t imagine if it is permanent.

My conversation with mom continues..
Me: Aiya, when did I say it is a real one?
Mom: Cheh! I knew you won’t do it one lar..
Me: Izzit? You bluff. Admit it, you thought it was real right? I am your daughter leh. Thought you knew me inside out. Disown me somore…
Mom: I knew your trick lar. *chuckled*
Me: Ya right..
