I accompanied my mom to her alumni dinner in Bangkok. It is their 30th anniversary for leaving high school. Well, she used to study at international school and that was why they had their dinner in Bangkok instead. Her school mates (from Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and the US) flew over to Bangkok on Saturday. The dinner was great and it was held at this grand and quite new 5-stars hotel at the riverside called Montien Riverside Hotel.
I met many uncles and aunties and can’t believe when they met each other, they giggled and chatted like young school kids. How cute! Some of her classmates wanted to introduce their sons to me too..*wink*
Love the costume! That’s why I got one for myself.

My mom can hardly recognise most of them. But surprisingly, her school mates were able to address her full name after 30 years! When it came to performance, the Malaysia representatives (all the cute uncles) dressed up like ladies to compete for pageant. I must say, they were all 40 over years old uncles and guess what, they looked like they were 6 months pregnant with their beer bellies.:)
A big applause to these cute ‘ladies’

We reached there on Saturday. My mom and I went to Chak Tu Chak market right after we touched down. We did not intend to shop there. We just wanted to visit the section where they sell all the pets because we missed it last year.
You can hear barking from far…and of course the smell. People selling puppies everywhere. Some fetched very high prices, ranging from 8,000 to 12,000 bahts (without pedigree). Of course you need to bargain with them. One thing I don’t like about shopping there is I need to bargain! But, I get to learn some new thai words each time I visit Thailand. Now I can even bargain in Thai…especially the NUMBERS! *wink*
Puppies puppies and MORE puppies!

Note: their ears with sticky tapes!

This pup is 8,000 bahts

Rabbits heaven

Isn’t it adorable?

We didn’t buy anything from the market except some local delicacies. I am so happy that I finally found the Thai national costume! It is so hard to get one with the right colour, size and price. (Yeah, one of my hobbies is to collect national costumes).
Wat Arun

We went to Wat Arun the next day at the other side of the Chao Praya River. Nice architecture…Amazing..
